Ski Season Just Got Better: Black Tie Ski Rental Delivery Adds Two New Locations

Announcing the Addition of Two Locations for the 2024-2025 winter season!

North America’s first ski and snowboard rental delivery service, is adding two locations for the 2024-2025 season. Black Tie Mont-Tremblant joins Black Tie Banff and Black Tie Whistler as the company’s third Canadian location and the first Black Tie option in the northeast. Black Tie Schweitzer is the second location in Idaho, joining Black Tie Sun Valley in the Gem State.

The announcement of two new locations increases the size of the Black Tie family to 20 locations serving 48 of the continent’s most popular resorts.

“Black Tie’s philosophy centers on service and selection,” said Black Tie co-founder Ian Prichard. “These two new locations allow us to expand into popular markets where guests are looking for options that make ski travel easier, without sacrificing gear quality and condition. Thanks to local ownership at all of our Black Tie locations, we’re able to provide the absolute best customer service, premium equipment in top condition, and local knowledge of the terrain.”

Black Tie Mont-Tremblant

Black Tie Mont-Tremblant is the only luxury rental delivery service in the area, and local owners Marco-Antonio Avellan and Jonathan Ouellet landed on the idea of opening a location in their hometown after experiencing Black Tie Whistler.

“After growing up in Mont-Tremblant and working here for a time after graduating from college I wanted to gain experience and perspective, so I spent time in Whistler,” said Black Tie Mont- Tremblant’s Avellan. “I took a job at the Black Tie operation there and I loved the service aspect. While talking with a client one day, the idea clicked that I needed to bring Black Tie’s service philosophy to Mont-Tremblant.”

Ouellet’s family owned a restaurant in Mont-Tremblant and he met Avellan on the ice where the two played hockey together as children.

“We grew up in Mont-Tremblant, and we’ve both chosen to stay here because we love the area,” said Ouellet. “We’re excited to establish a business here and bring something new to the community.”

Avellan and Ouellet will offer a higher level of service and a more personalized rental experience to clients and community partners. “For us, opening this business is about having more time to provide customer service, to answer questions and fulfill needs,” added Avellan.

With a brick-and-mortar location at Chateau Beauvallon, guests can visit the shop or opt for the full rental delivery experience. Black Tie Mont-Tremblant is currently taking reservations for the winter 2024-2025 season. Avellan and Ouellet say the resort has a European feel and a vibrant base area, where locals speak both French and English. The winter experience is steeped in luxury, making Mont-Tremblant a perfect location for a high-end rental delivery experience.

Black Tie Schweitzer

Black Tie Schweitzer is the first rental delivery operation in this fast-growing winter destination located in Sandpoint, Idaho. Black Tie Schweitzer will primarily offer rental delivery to guests’ accommodations, but clients can stop by the warehouse for single-day rentals and more information about the new operation.

Black Tie Schweitzer owner Graham Byxbee was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, and grew up skiing at Schweitzer. He attended college in Montana and moved back to Idaho where he’s spent the past 10 years as executive chef at Elkins Resort on Priest Lake. Byxbee is looking forward to introducing resort guests and area residents to Black Tie’s luxury rental experience at an affordable price.

“People may think Black Tie will be an overly expensive option and that’s not the case” said Byxbee. “We’re going to be very competitive with the other rental shops in the area, while offering a premium product and brand new equipment.”

Byxbee will carry a variety of ski lines, including Peak Skis, Elan and Black Crows. Snowboard brands include Salomon and Never Summer. He’ll also stock premium boots with Boa® Fit System options. “I’m very excited to bring this product and service to my home mountain, said Byxbee. “I’m looking forward to becoming a household name in the premium gear rental business.”

Reservations are available at Black Tie Schweitzer for the 2024-2025 ski and snowboard season, and Byxbee’s location at the base of the mountain makes delivery and on-site rentals easy and convenient. He says Schweitzer should be on your resort list while it’s still somewhat of a hidden gem. Alterra’s newest resort acquisition is a family-oriented resort and a premiere destination in the northwest. Schweitzer is the largest resort in Idaho and Washington and presents the features of a top winter destination at a great value. Byxbee adds the diversity of terrain, perfect pitch, amazing glade skiing and consistent snowfall will make Schweitzer an all- around favorite.

    • Black Tie delivers equipment to individual accommodations at a time chosen by the guest; or guests can pick up equipment at any brick-and-mortar location
    • A personal ski concierge custom fits equipment for each guest.
    • Black Tie will switch out equipment as needed; delivered to individual accommodations or to the mountain.
    • Black Tie collects rented gear at the end of the trip; or guests can drop off equipment at any brick-and-mortar location.

BLACK TIE IS BETTER IN THREE IMPORTANT AREAS:
  1. Service – Black Tie operates 20 licensed locations, meaning they’re individually and locally owned and operated, while following service guidelines created by Black Tie’s founders. For guests this means local knowledge about conditions, terrain and performance (plus lots of local intel about dinner spots and deals), and a vested interest in happy customers.
  2. Selection – Each owner handpicks their rental fleet based upon the nuances of each mountain they serve. Some locations offer niche brands, like Icelantic, Black Crows, and Never Summer, and most branches carry heated boots.
  3. Convenience – Black Tie won’t specify a three-hour delivery window; each guest group schedules a specific fitting time and location. No waiting around, no guesswork, no miscommunication.

What’s more, Black Tie schedules fittings the night before a group’s first ski day whenever possible. In addition, customers can communicate with Black Tie via text to arrange equipment fittings and returns. With two new locations and more than two decades of providing phenomenal customer service, Black Tie Ski Rental Delivery is poised to help customers across North America enjoy the most seamless season yet.
