Flagship Steamboat Springs, Colo. Location Changes Ownership

Black Tie Ski Rentals Opens 15th Location in Banff, Alberta

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (Aug. 29, 2016) – Black Tie Ski Rentals will have new owners for the 2016-17 season at the company’s flagship location in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Brian and Andrea Savino bring an extensive business background and love of skiing to Steamboat, which they have called home for several years.

Black Tie Ski Rentals is the largest ski rental delivery service in North America, with 15 owner operated locations servicing 37 premier resort destinations. Each Black Tie location provides travelers with a convenient, time-saving alternative to rental shops. Local experts deliver the rental equipment for custom fittings in the comfort of guests’ rooms.

“Brian brings a wealth of business expertise and Andrea comes from a high end customer service background, which, together with their love of the sport, is a perfect fit for Steamboat,” said Ian Prichard, one of the founding partners of Black Tie Ski Rentals, and previous Black Tie Steamboat owner. Prichard will be involved in daily operations at Steamboat for the duration of this season, plus continue his long standing role of president of Black Tie Ski Rentals licensing company, which comprises 15 individually owned locations.

Black Tie Steamboat offers full service ski rental delivery and a retail/service shop at the base of mountain, a kiosk at the Yampa Valley Regional Airport, in addition to exclusively managing the One Steamboat Place ski valet, a five-star private residence club.

“Owning our own business like Black Tie Ski Rentals has been a lifelong passion,” said Brian Savino. “Running its flagship operation in Steamboat is truly a distinct privilege.”

Black Tie Ski Rentals is also excited to announce the opening of Banff, Alberta as their landmark 15th location. The Black Tie Banff Branch will be owned and operated by Jason Funnell, an 8-year ski industry veteran.

“I look forward to bringing full-service ski rental delivery to the Banff market, and am thrilled to partner with an organization dedicated to providing such a high level of service,” Funnell said.

Banff National Park consists of three distinctive mountain resorts: Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Resort, and Sunshine Village. The three resorts offer a combined 7,748 acres of skiing and riding, two gondolas, 26 chairlifts, and 30-feet annual snowfall.

Black Tie Ski Rentals pioneered the concept of ski/snowboard rental equipment delivery in 2001 when Prichard and co-founder Joe Sternberg opened their first location in Steamboat Springs, Colo, out of a one-car garage. Black Tie now provides award-winning rental delivery service in 15 owner-operated locations at 37 world-class resorts including Mammoth, North Lake Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe, Heavenly, Aspen / Snowmass, Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Steamboat, Telluride, Vail / Beaver Creek, Winter Park, Big Sky / Moonlight Basin, Park City / Deer Valley / The Canyons, Sun Valley, Whistler / Blackcomb, and Banff (Norquay/Lake Louise/Sunshine Village).
